sommar…äntligen!

i love our balcony

we’ve been so busy lately, especially on the weekends. i find myself wanting to do nothing but sit on the balcony with a book & a glass of wine in my pj’s with the sun beaming down through our lovely ulmus americana.

summer is the season of a million extracurriculars:

artan finished puppy school this week. we’ll probably give it a few months before he enters basic behavior classes. we love him, but he (we) need the classes. he definitely learned quite a bit from puppy school…it was well worth it!

my herbal class is going well. i spent 5 hours gardening last saturday to make up some of the hours i will be missing for the upcoming holiday & our vacation. 5 hours of gardening is a lot of gardening, especially when you’re loosening soil. loosening soil that is actually made up of ten thousand day lily bulbs, resisting and hating you. those things multiply like rabbits.

next week i start my “introduction to eqyptian dance class” (otherwise known as belly dancing). soon…SOON i will be the snake woman & you shall all be fearfully entranced.

EDIT:: DUDE. i just found out that the dance studio offers monday night techno-belly classes: “shimmying, isolating, undulating, and generally gettin’ sweaty to electronic, dub, techno, industrial, and rock”. i now have two belly classes a week.

jared, as always has an ever-growing list of hobbies to keep him occupied. the latest is this RC plane he’s building with his buddy sam force. that’s his actual name. SAM FORCE. he lives up to it too. and then! his wife married him to become MOLLY FORCE. i love those kids, they play mean croquet.

so in the middle of all of this business it would be really, really nice to get out & go hiking or camping or something of the sort. i feel bad that my numerous classes have kind of put the kibosh to anything in the upcoming weekends but there is always july. i’m sure there will be plenty of july sunshine…am i right? beaucoup sunshine. so say we all.

jared’s aunt nilda passed away on wednesday…my thoughts are with joe and the family during this difficult time. i am very glad that i got the chance to meet nilda when we visited last summer. she was blessed with a very close family (a very wonderfully large family) and she was loved.

And… She *IS* loved.

And, so are YOU. Thank you for your kind words. The family could do a lot worse than you for a “niece in law”!
