just naked
australia: nude teenagers art exhibit isn’t porn
Photographs of nude teenagers that prompted police to close a gallery exhibit in Australia’s biggest city and launch an obscenity investigation were cleared Friday as non-pornographic, and police dropped their case against the artist.
…Police shut down the exhibit hours before it was to open May 22 and confiscated dozens of photographs of naked adolescent boys and girls to investigate whether they violated obscenity laws.
i think what strikes me here, is why i’m caught wondering what sort of investigation this entailed. perhaps it’s just semantics…but an investigation was launched. they sprung into action! they grabbed up all the nudie photos and took a long hard gander against what i’m picturing (this is your brain on tessa), a big dusty tome of pornography. isn’t that what is meant by thoroughly examined? were they careful not to spill their coffee on the snapshots as they tag-teamed and chain-smoked their way to a conclusion? are there australian porn experts? how can that even be a specialty these days?
“a team of scoobies spent hours in the sunnydale library, sir and we ran it against fieman’s database…it looks like they’re just naked.”
