a few thoughts on a lot of other people’s super tuesday
a million years ago i had a brief rant about disposable razors. well yesterday i found a package of these at central market. and while i was pleased with the idea…they are still a bit pricey when compared to the regular disposable razors, however not as pricey as the gillette venus. and you can replace the heads. the handle is one piece and made of 100% recycled plastic (though it’s somewhat ergonomic it’s Not As Comfortable as the venus. i’m not even starting on the blade design.) the handle is #5 recyclable when you decide you’re done with it.
i’ve been accused of being a big hippie lately. i think it’s perfectly reasonable to do whatever i can, however lot or little that may be. i don’t think that makes me a full-fledged hippie, and/or better than anyone else. (what does make me a hippie is all the dirt i wear for the earth mother.) is it a wasted effort? think of it this way…matter doesn’t leave. is it in the end, everything is 100% recyclable…you just may not like the next form that it takes.
i didn’t recycle in my house growing up; there weren’t services in tahuya. i did watch captain planet. my dad was a small time logger, my grandma managed the theler wetlands project. i understand the concept of subsistance farming. i know the hinderance of red tape bureaucracy. i’m aware of life on both sides of the spectrum. this year i’m voting for barack hussein obama. i have nothing against hillary, i’m not a self-hating woman. i’m not afraid of a woman in the oval office. i don’t think that men lead any better than women…i just have a few more ideas in common with obama, and that is what it is all about.
