puppy smoosh

we got another puppy update. they look like knut clones, or as jared observed…little dollops of frosting.

a little brotherly aggression love something:

polar bear (i mean puppy) love

jared and brian capped 76 bottles of homebrew today. i have yet to try it, but hopefully it’s good because we have a lot of it.

huh. how does that work out? what size carboy(s) did you use? was this all one batch, or was this a bottling effort spanning multiple batches (and styles)? what size brew pot do you have? did you have to split that up into multiple boils?

i don’t own any equipment. i priced it out and for the cost of purchasing equipment and making one batch this place will provide you with better equipment, store, and transfer your beer to a tap for bottling. they have a line of 15 gallon copper steam kettles and you just brew it in that. they’re all piped and you put it in what amounts to 13 gallon drum where it stays to ferment in their store-room. wait two weeks, bottle.

i figure if we do this a couple times and manage to come out with some decent beer it may be worth it to buy my own gear and do it at home. for now this works out since i don’t really have anywhere to put all that stuff.

ahhhh! gotcha. yeah. some of the biggest logistics involve storage space.

hope the beer turns out well. what was the style?

if i happen to be in seattle sometime soon i’ll be sure to drop by and mooch one or two! :)

you’d better hurry! at least, that’s what jared keeps saying. i don’t know though, one bottle of this stuff and he gets a little tuckered out. 3/4 and i’m done, though i’m not going to claim to know what the actual alcohol content is. it’s decent though. come for the beer, stay for the puppy?

i made a smokey porter. which actually turned out to be more of a creamy porter. it’s nothing amazing, but it’s very drinkable for the first try. i started with 37, i’m down to 32, better hurry :)
