life goals
after some goading from mr. a, i’ve compiled a list of simple life goals.
- travel to ireland, and see the countryside. buy a huge wool sweater
- buy a tiny car. i hate parking in seattle. preferably a mini, will settle for honda fit.
- learn swedish.
have a large kitchen. moving into a condo with a larger kitchen in march!- own a pomeranian.
- publish a chapbook of my lame, lame poetry.
- write the third installment of my family’s history in tahuya. my great great great grandma wrote Tales from a Tahuya Log, and then my great aunt wrote Tales from a Tahuya Log: Second Growth. i was supposed to write the third one. i kinda wish i’d gotten started on that before grandma died.
- have at least one kid. probably two. definitely not three.
- get and maintain a bonsai tree. like a good one, and not the crappy one i killed three years ago.
- road trip down to california to see my sister before she graduates from college. seems easy enough, though it never seems to happen.
- have a garden that includes a japanese maple tree.
- visit new york, san francisco, miami, and chicago. that way i feel like i’ve been to all the corners. i’m excluding los angeles, i’ve already been there.
- own a tessa rhododendron. it exists! my grandma had one.
- grow my hair out as long as it was in kindergarten. halfway down my back.
- take a massage therapy class.
that’s it for now because it is time for bed. i’ll probably add more to this later, because it is really fun. i will cross them out as i go, and try to get as many as i can. i’d love to see others’ life goal lists if you’re willing to share them. thanks for the idea mr. a!
EDIT:: my great great great grandmother’s book is only available through my aunt helen. i also might be able to get some copies. i’m not sure though, i’ll look into it. that is, if anyone is interested. more info here.
